The Futurity Open at the Idaho Cutting Horse Association (ICHA) Futurity and Aged Event saw 20 3-year-old horses vying for top honors, and many fans gathered to watch the young up-and-comers take center stage.
Equi-Stat Elite $2 Million Rider Matt Miller rode Joel and Jayne Colgrove’s homebred Sweet Baby Marie, who he just won the West Texas Futurity Open on exactly two weeks ago on Aug. 17. They continued their success in Idaho when they marked a 219 for the Championship and $12,106.
“She is just all around really solid,” Miller said of his two wins in a row on the mare (High Brow CD x Hangem High Pep x Hickorys Indian Pep).
Ezee Goin carried Monty Buntin to the Reserve Championship and $10,000 with a 217.5.
