Glitter Done Wins Another Mercuria Title in Idaho

adanwebGlitter Done & Adan Banuelos There is always plenty of hype and excitement surrounding the Mercuria/National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) World Series of Cutting events, and the finals at the Idaho Cutting Horse Association (ICHA) Futurity and Aged Event was no different.

In the Open, the draw was stacked with some of the industry’s top horses and riders, and it was anyone’s title. Plenty of attention was on 8-year-old mare Glitter Done (Dual Smart Rey x Tinsels Cat Lady x High Brow Cat) and Adan Banuelos, who won the last two Mercurias at the Pacific Coast Cutting Horse Association Derby and the West Texas Futurity.

Banuelos did not disappoint when he earned a smoking 230 from the judges to clinch his third-straight Mercuria title. The duo’s impressive performance brought a paycheck of $10,823 to owner and breeder Susan Hearst.

“I thank God for the momentum and the ability to ride the mare,” Banuelos said following his win.

J Five Horse Ranch’s 4-year-old mare Ichis My Choice (Cat Ichi x My Little Abra x Abrakadabracre) and Grant Setnicka laid down a 225 for the Reserve Championship, worth $8,542.
