Quarter Horse News Returns as Tulsa Reining Classic Stallion Auction Sponsor

Tulsa logoFor the fifth consecutive year, Quarter Horse News (QHN) has returned as the sponsor of the Tulsa Reining Classic Stallion Service Auction. The Tulsa Reining Classic, scheduled for Aug. 29-Sept. 4, has become an essential stop along the fall reining show trail in recent years. It is a lucrative venue for futurity and derby horses, with innovative classes and exhibitor-oriented scheduling, and the site of the National Reining Horse Association’s South Central Region Affiliate Finals and a full slate of ancillary classes.

This year, there’s even more! The United States Equestrian Federation Reining Championships will be held during the show. With nearly 2,500 entries and a total payout last year of over $338,000, the show continues to evolve. According to Colleen McQuay, Co-Founder of Global Reining Sport Group which produces the event, its continued success is due in large part to the support of its committed sponsors – like QHN.

Quarter Horse News became the title sponsor of our Quarter Horse News Tulsa Reining Classic Stallion Service Auction in 2012, and we are privileged to continue this relationship,” McQuay explained. “A media resource like Quarter Horse News is an invaluable tool for reining. Plus, we feel a special connection with Savannah Magoteaux, having formerly been involved in the production of the Tulsa Reining Classic. We still miss her as part of our team but congratulate her and look forward to continuing to work with her in her new capacity with Cowboy Publishing.”

Savannah Magoteaux, Associate Publisher of QHN, was equally positive about the relationship between QHN and the Tulsa Reining Classic Stallion Auction.

“We are excited to continue our partnership with the Tulsa Reining Classic as the Stallion Service Auction sponsor. Reining continues to grow, and we are glad we can help that trend by sponsoring great events like the Tulsa Reining Classic,” Magoteaux said.
