For their victory, the duo went home to Pine Grove, California, $3,016 richer.

“I’m excited. We’ve had her since she was a yearling, and she’s been a special one, so we were excited,” Gilliam said.

After owning her half-sister, Boom Box Dancer, who Gilliam rode to co-win the Futurity Non-Pro last year, Gilliam purchased The Prima Ballerina (Topsail Whiz x Dancer Nic x Tinsel Nic) from Schmersal Reining Horses at the 2014 Legacy Reining Breeders Sale. Her lifetime earnings are nearing $90,000.

Kelly Moran, of Laguna Hills, California, rode Miss California to a 216.5, taking the Reserve Championship in Levels 4 and 3. Moran and mare (Smart Spook x Chexanicki x Bueno Chexinic), who belongs to Joe and Karen Moran, accumulated $2,074.
