Samantha Roper, of Hobart, Indiana, made her first appearance at the Reining By The Bay count when she rode Big Creme Chic to a 218.5, sweeping the Derby Levels 4, 3, 2 and 1 Non-Pro championships. It was an exciting finish as the 6-year-old gelding winds down the final year of his limited-age career.
“It feels amazing. I never dreamed that it was going to happen when I came here. It was just on my bucket list of horse shows that I wanted to show at, because I’ve never been here before, so it’s extra special,” Roper said.
