First Aaron Ranch Derby Champions Crowned


Amateur

Megan Ciana, of Peyton, Colorado, claimed the Aaron Ranch Cow Horse Classic Amateur Championship when she guided Cold Day In Hail (Rap Cat x Hailn Magic Diamonds x Shine Like Hail) to a 425.5 (139 herd/140.5 rein/146 cow). The win paid $1,022. Ciana also collected a Gist buckle and jacket from Aaron Ranch, as well as product from Platinum Performance.

There was a tie for the Amateur Reserve between Dennis Lambert, riding Miss Mighty Mite (Shiners Lena Doc x Shine A Mite x Doc O Dynamite), and Clayton Hines, aboard CJ Russell (CJ Sugar Lena x DMAC Sister Spoonful x Peptoboonsmal). Both scored a 415 composite and took home identical $639 paychecks.

Non-Pro Limited

In the Non-Pro Limited division, Linda Wood, of Rolling Hills Estates, California, claimed the Championship aboard This Cats Royal (WR This Cats Smart x Da Royal Pepto x Peptoboonsmal), scoring a total 425 (143 herd/137 rein/145 cow) to earn $1,312.


Linda also collected a Gist buckle and jacket sponsored by Aaron Ranch, and product from Platinum Performance.

The Non-Pro Limited Reserve Champion was Brooke Wharton, who rode Do It Classy (Cat Man Do x High Class Senorita x Mr Solano Smoke) to a total 417.5 (139 herd/142.5 rein/136 cow), taking home $1,094, a fleece cooler from Classic Equine and a jacket from Aaron Ranch.
