Several thousand visitors watched the finals of the 3-year-old (SBH) and 4-year-old (Bit) Futurity during the final weekend.

The best riders of the go-round were the ones to claim the Champion and Reserve Champion titles of the SBH Open Final. Scoring a brilliant 226, Dominik Reminder rode Sliding To The Top (Gunners Special Nite x Dos Coronas) to SBH Open Futurity Championship honors for owner Luga Quarter Horses. Grischa Ludwig and his flashy palomino stallion Shine N Step (Wimpys Little Step x Shiney Sparks) became Reserve Champions with a score of 223.5. Reminder, who had his first riding lessons with Alex Ripper, was the 2005 German Reining Junior Division Champion. As a Non-Pro, he won the NRHA Breeders Derby and the European Derby. In 2013, he started riding in the Open and became the NRHA Open Reserve World Champion. Today he is working as a professional trainer in Italy.

Futurity Limited Open

In the Limited Open, the Championship was claimed by Nina Lill and GP Explosivemercedes, a 3-year-old stallion by Cromed Out Mercedes and out of the Nu Chex To Cash mare I Am Chexsplosive, who was bred by Marleen Dyck. GP Explosivemercedes is owned by Lill’s mother, Kerstin Lill. Nina and the stallion received a 223 for their fine run. Nina is a multiple NRHA Bronze Trophy Champion, FEI European Champion (team and individual), NRHA Breeders Derby Champion and was fourth with the German team at the 2014 World Equestrian Games (WEG). The Limited Open Reserve Champion title went to Arnaud Girinon aboard Hannes Kirchberger’s Star Shining Lady (Star Spangled Whiz x GH Redskin Lady x Jacs Zantanna) after the team marked a 220.
