If there’s one thing that is clear, the palomino horse is quite visible in the reining arena. Some of the most successful sires, owners and riders have led these golden champions to the winner’s circle for the last 50 years.

In celebration of the NRHA’s 50th anniversary in 2016, the PHBA Heritage Foundation is working to provide a hanging display of all the palomino horses that have been inducted to the NRHA Hall of Fame. The NRHA’s celebration is not only a celebration of the sport of reining, but also of all the horses that have mastered this sport, palominos included.

“The palomino horse has always been present in the sport of reining, and there are several famous palominos that immediately come to mind who have shown in our arena. Strengthening this relationship not only helps promote our sport, it also brings the beautiful golden horse front and center to those who may want to register their next reiner with the PHBA,” said NRHA Commissioner Gary Carpenter.

PHBA General Manager Terri Green shared in Carpenter’s excitement. “The pairing of the PHBA and the NRHA is a natural collaboration. Through this partnership and the sport of reining in general, the true athleticism and versatility of the palomino horse can be showcased.”
