$100,000 CD Lights Yearling Tops NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Sales

metallic-lookMetallic Look was the highest-selling 2-year-old at $77,000.The third-highest seller came from the Select 2-Year-Old Sale when the hammer fell at $77,000 for Hip No. 337, Metallic Look. The red roan stallion was well started under saddle by Justin Lawrence, and was consigned by him and his wife, Kelcie Lawrence. Alvin Fults, of Amarillo, Texas, who bought Metallic Look, also owns his sire, Metallic Cat.

Metallic Look is a full or half-brother to 11 money-earners, including First Lookin ($85,765, by Smart Little Lena), a multiple cutting aged event finalist; Looks Halreycious ($70,890, by Halreycious), who finished in the top 10 in the NCHA Futurity Open; Heres Lookin At You ($34,356, by Peptoboonsmal); and others.

His dam, Smart Lookin Hi Brow, won the NCHA Derby Open, Abilene Spectacular Derby Open, Augusta Classic Open, Polo Ranch Classic (twice) and Memphis Classic while recording earnings of $216,395 during her career. Metallic Look’s second dam, The Smart Look, is the No. 3 all-time dam of cutting horse money-earners, according to Equi-Stat.
