Trophies Stolen During AQHA Adequan Select World Championship Show

world-trophiesThirty AQHA Adequen Select World Championship Show trophies were stolen. Horse thievintook on a new meaning in Amarillo, Texas, when 30 American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) show trophies were rustled during the AQHA Adequan Select World Championship show.

According to Amarillo Crime Stoppers, 10 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze AQHA globe awards were stored inside the Amarillo National Center at the Tri-State Fairgrounds. The iconic trophies were reported missing on Thursday, Sept. 3, just three days before the show ended.

Crime Stoppers has put up a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of suspects.

Nonetheless, Thursday, Friday and Saturday winners didnt go home without hardware. The trophies were made locally and the AQHA was able to come up with replacements.

The trophies, plated in the precious metals, are estimated to be worth thousands of dollars, police said.
