The fence work final of the European Reined Cow Horse Association (ERCHA) Futurity Open was one of two highlights of the Saturday night show at the Americana. In front of 4,800 visitors, Giovanni Campanaro from Italy and his 3-year-old Paint gelding RH Hesa Pepto Diamond (Spoonful Of Merada x Marriah Diamond) won the Futurity Open Championship for owner Azenda Agricola Tenuta Comba.
The two had a brilliant fence work, scoring a 144. Together with the second best rein work (142.5) and a solid herd work (141), their composite was 427.5. Campanaro is a multiple reined cow horse and team penning Champion who has banked more than $ 12,000 at ERCHA Shows in the last three years.
Finishing a half-point back with a 427 composite was multiple reined cow horse champion Robert Lagergren from Sweden and 3-year-old gelding HH One Piece of Gun (Steady Big Chex x Masterpiece 2000). They placed second for owner Cinda Henriksson. The two excelled in the herd work (146) and had the second best run in the fence work, scoring a 142.
With a total on three of 423, Giovanni Campanaro rode RH Tremor in Style to third-place honors. He also placed fourth aboard Sweety Smart Baby (420.5).
World Cup ERCHA Open Bridle
Italian Markus Schöpfer and Peptos Lil Bingo (Peptoboonsmal x Conchita Gay Bingo x Bingo Hickory) took the win in the World Cup ERCHA Bridle Open. In the rein work, Peptos Lil Bingo earned a 142, and in the fence work, a 149. Their composite score of 219 was a half-point better than the Reserve Champions.
Philipp Martin Haug and Peppy Steppin JA were second with a 290.5 total on two. They had the best fence work score of 150.
World Cup ERCHA Limited Open Bridle
The Limited Open Bridle was run concurrently with the Open. The winner was Patrick Sattler, aboard Shooters Little Gun, who scored a 286.5 (140.5 rein/146 fence), with Tomas Barta and Smoking Cowboy SB second with a 284 composite (142 rein/142 fence).
World Cup ERCHA Non-Pro Bridle
The World Cup ERCHA Non-Pro Bridle was dominated by Armin Traub, who scored a 279.5 aboard Shooters Little Sun. Masha Stein and Gatlings Hot Cookie (PT) placed second.
The ERCHA Hackamore Open went to Giovanni Campanaro aboard Showtime Chic Olena, who scored a total of 287.5 points. Samuele Poli and Cats Got Freckles followed in second with a 284 total on two.
Way Out West Ranch Riding Open
This year marked the first time that Ranch Riding was part of the Americana line-up, and 30 riders answered the call. The class was won by Austrian Thomas Posch, riding Budhas Little Jac. They presented a fine, smooth run, scoring a 148. Two riders tied for second at 147.5: Kay Wienrich, riding San Badger Andaure, and Katharina Götz, riding Appaloosa stallion Signed By Chex.
