Thebettertohearuwith & Fappani Top Futurity Level 4 Open at Reining By The Bay

Julie Ridgeway and Nu Pops have been working their way to the top since the 2015 National Reining Breeders Classic, where the finished as Champions in the Prime Time Non-Pro. Now, and now they have accomplished a huge victory in Woodside, California, by sweeping up all Levels of the Derby Non-Pro.

As the 31st horse-and-rider duo in the 34-horse class, Ridgeway and the 5-year-old stallion (Nu Chex To Cash x Sugar Pop Gun x Gunner) scored a sweet 222.5 for the Levels 4, 3, 2, 1 and Prime Time championships. They received a paycheck worth more than $13,500.

“I can’t believe it. It’s like Disney Land, times ten!” Ridgeway said. “I knew if I could nail my spins I would be set up to do really well on the rest of the pattern, so I was really focusing on that. My horse is fabulous. I absolutely love him and our journey has been wonderful.”

Taking home the Levels 4, 3 and Prime Time Reserve title was Cam Essick and Hollier Then Thou (Jacs Electric Spark x Slylena x Smart Little Lena). The duo scored a 220.5 and received a $6,744 paycheck for their performance.
