Thebettertohearuwith & Fappani Top Futurity Level 4 Open at Reining By The Bay

Futurity Non-Pro

It was a big day for Boyle Ranch during the Futurity Non-Pro. As the eighth draw in the 9-horse class, Mike Boyle’s client Jennifer Gilliam piloted Boom Box Dancer (Boom Shernic x Dancer Nic x Tinsel Nic) to score a 215.5 and take the lead in the Level 4. However, as the last draw, Boyles’ sister Jeanne Levine rode her homegrown gelding Whizen Thru The Cash (Big Chex To Cash x Trouble Lena Whiz) to also score a 215.5.

There wasn’t any debate about a run-off, as they both had the horses in mind and happily settled for Level 4 co-championships and paychecks worth $3,134.

“I’m just really happy to be in that company,” Levine said about tying with Gilliam. “She is an amazing rider and that is an amazing horse. I never thought I would tie with that horse.”

“Being in the barn with Jeanne, it couldn’t have gone to a neater person. And to be another Boyle ranch person, there was no way we were running off,” Gilliam said. “We need to save the horses and look towards the next show and be happy with what we got.”
