Pedel To The Metall (Metallic Cat x Twice As Reycy x Dual Rey), bred by Gail Holmes’ Double Dove Ranch, of Fort Worth, Texas, carried Equi-Stat Elite $1 Million Rider Adan Banuelos to the win after marking a smokin’ 226 from the fourth draw in the 12-horse finals. The winner’s share of the $265,500 payout in the Open was a whopping $60,000, which more than doubled the 4-year-old stallion’s lifetime earnings.

“It’s honestly such a blessing to win, period. I love that horse,” said Banuelos, of Granbury, Texas. “This horse has a lot to offer, and it doesn’t take us a lot to get him to do it.”
