Ridden by Robin Schoeller for Ruoff Dietter Reining Horses, of Millersport, Ohio, WLS Tinseltown scored a 225 to win the $10,000-added Level 4 Open and $5,278.

National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) past president Beth Himes owns Ruoff Dietter Reining Horses and purchased this now 6-year-old gelding as a 2-year-old. Schoeller, of London, Ohio, trained WLS Tinseltown (Wimpys Little Step x Ms Holywood Showtime x Docs Showtime) and has already amassed an impressive show record with the horse.

“He won the [All American Quarter Horse] Congress [Reining Futurity Levels 3 and 2] Open as a 3-year-old and made the Level 3 Open finals at the NRHA Futurity,” Schoeller said, adding that their next show would be the Tulsa Reining Classic. “He’s made the finals at every major event since. He’s just a nice horse and he’s been very consistent.”

Couture Tag (Whiz N Tag Chex x Kachina Oak Olena x Smart Chic Olena), ridden by Peter DeFreitas for George and Carol Bell, of Raleigh, North Carolina, placed second with a 222.5 that was worth $4,105.

Bonnie Gun (Colonels Smoking Gun [Gunner] x Shesa Smart Sister x Hesa Smart Chic), ridden by Rob Huddleston for Sammy Graham, of Collins, Mississippi, scored a 224.5 to win the $5,000-added Level 3 and $2,000-added Level 2 Open divisions. They earned a total of $3,805. Huddleston, of Pontotoc, Mississippi, got a late start with the 4-year-old mare, but he’s making up for lost time.

“The way she showed here is the kind of horse she is. It just took her a while. She had plus one turns and plus one stops. She’s a very happy horse and I’m a very happy trainer,” he said. Next stop is the Tulsa Reining Classic.
