Big Win for WLS Tinseltown at Clayton Woosley HOF Reining

Top Blonde (Topsail Whiz x Blonde At The Bar x Hollywood Jac 86), a 6-year old mare, ridden by Cristiano Coelho for Deborah Strahman, New Smyrna Beach, Fla., scored a 214.5 to win the $1,000 added Level 1 Open. They earned $560.

Non-Pro

Jose Vazquez, of Markham, Illinois, was first and second in the Level 4 and Prime Time Non-Pro. He rode Windy Juice to a 221 and earned a total $4,999. He rode Shiner Side Winder to the Reserve Championship in both divisions with a score of 219.5, earning an additional $3,970. Windy Juice is a 5-year-old gelding; Shiner Side Winder is a 6-year old gelding and they are full brothers: by Smart Like Juice and out of Wind Her Up Shiner by Shining Spark. Both horses are owned by Smart Like Juice, Inc., also of Markham.

Lyndsey Jordan, of Georgetown, Kentucky, coached by Robin Schoeller, continued her winning ways aboard Made By Magnum (Magnum Chic Dream x Ready Make Cowboy x Master Cowboy Jac). They scored a 218 to win the $5,000 added Level 3 Non-Pro and earned $2,603.

Ben Beckett, of Dublin, Ohio, coached by Shawn Flarida, excelled in Lexington. Riding Wallamelon Crawl (Walla Walla Whiz x Ready Make Cowboy x Master Cowboy Jac) Beckett scored a 216 and won the Levels 2 and 1 Non-Pro and the Youth. They won a total of $2,113.

In addition to the derby, The Clayton Woosley Hall of Fame Reining, hosted by the Kentucky Reining Horse Association, offered two full slates of NRHA ancillary classes, two entry-level slates, a maturity and a futurity. The event was judged by Brad Kelsall, Ann Salmon and Clint Haverty.
