North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE) officials recently announced two additions to the North American Quarter Horse Show, which will be held at the Kentucky Exposition Center Nov. 3-11. A new Team Penning competition has been added to the show schedule, as well as a National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Senior World Tour class.

Open Team Penning

Open Team Penning is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3, following the Two-Man Ranch Sorting. The entry fee is $150 per team. Officials have confirmed this is a pick-and-draw class and at least one team must be drawn. There is a five-ride entry limit per competitor and rules state that each ride must have a change of one rider.

The total Team Penning purse will be determined by the number of entries, with 50 percent of entry fees added to the premiums. The payback is 40 percent on the first go-round, with the top 15 advancing to the finals. The remaining purse will be paid in the finals to the top four places.

NCHA, NRHA & AQHA Shows

The NCHA classes offered in 2014 are returning to NAILE Nov. 4-5, in addition to an NCHA Senior World Tour (60-year-old and older) class, which has been added this year. These new classes will run concurrently with several other NCHA classes.

The National Reining Horse Association classes offered in 2014 are also returning, along with the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) classes. The AQHA Quarter Horse Show is a triple-point, triple-judged event that takes place Nov. 6-11.

Complete information about the classes and other offerings, including NAILE Stake Events, are available in the premium catalog and on the Quarter Horse Show Premium List, which is available online. By the end of the nine-day show, contestants will have earned premiums and awards worth more than $75,000.
