After seven hours of deliberation on Friday, May 29, the jury in the Sherri Brunzell animal cruelty case convicted Brunzell on eight of 14 counts. The Black Forest, Colorado, woman was acquitted on the six other counts.
Brunzell’s sentencing, which could include up to 18 months in jail, is scheduled for Aug. 13. She was accused of animal cruelty after 10 horses, including well-known cutting stallion Dual Peppy, and four llamas were seized from her care in September 2014.
