Lewis Wray Wins NCHA Vice Presidential Race

LewisWray 15SPLewis Wray • Photo by Stacy PigottOn Tuesday, June 9, the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) released the results of its vice presidential race. Candidate Lewis Wray, of Russellville, Arkansas, edged out his opponent to win the election.

The NCHA received 2,193 ballots, which were due to the association’s Fort Worth, Texas-based headquarters by midnight, June 8. The independent voting firm Simply Voting, of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, tallied the votes for the NCHA.

Wray, who works as an equine educational compliance officer with the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission, received 1,421 votes, as compared to opponent Jerry Louie, of Chico, California, who received 772.

During the general membership meeting at the NCHA Convention, scheduled for June 19-21 in Grapevine, Texas, Wray will assume his responsibilities as vice president.
