Havard Sales Undergoes Changes, Including New Name

premiere-equine-auctionsOwner Mike Pedersen recently announced some changes to Havard Sales Management, including a new business name, Mike Pedersen’s Premier Equine Auctions.

“As most of you know we purchased Havard Sales Management in 2008 and have made several changes since that time,” Pedersen said. “We feel at this time that we would like to make several other changes.”

Along with the name change, the company has a new website, www.premiereequineauctions.com. Buyers and sellers can expect to see newly designed sale catalogs, as well as fresh advertising.

A ranch horse competition has been added to the Summer Sensational Sale, which will be held June 12-13 at the George Henderson Expo Center in Lufkin, Texas. Consignment forms are available online for the sale, which will feature Quarter Horse and Paint cutters, reiners, team sorters and penners, barrel horses and pleasure horses.

“This sale will incorporate a ranch horse competition along with the mixed sale,” Pedersen said. “Our plans are to have the competition in the main enclosed expo arena.”

The four-judge ranch horse competition is open to geldings, stallions and mares. The champion will receive $5,000 plus a trophy buckle; the reserve champion will receive $2,500 plus a saddle pad; and the third-place finisher will receive $1,000.

“These competition and other ranch geldings will sell on Friday evening, right after the conclusion of the competition and awarding of the prizes,” Pederson explained. “We will be having live web cast of the demonstration, competition and sale.”

The consignment deadline for the ranch horse competition and the Summer Sensational Sale is May 1.
