National Reining Breeders Classic (NRBC) began to offer kids’ activities for various special occasions. By last year, these sessions were taking place daily and their popularity has resulted in an expanded program for 2015, the Reiner Kids Academy.Early on, the
“We are pleased to announce that we are growing our kid’s program at the NRBC,” NRBC Secretary-Treasurer Cheryl Cody stated. “This year, Bess Bouley will come on board to provide daily Reiner Kids Academy sessions for kids, age 10 and under.”
Bouley, from Maple Plains, Minnesota, began her career working with kids in a special education program and has nearly thirty years experience in child care and preschool. Cody noted, “Her innovative and fun approach to learning is one that we feel will fit well with the NRBC. For years, her Rainbow Daycare and Preschool was a mainstay for her area and we are thrilled to have someone with her experience to run our new NRBC Reiner Kids Academy!”
Bouley is excited about this new venue. “My goal has always been to provide a safe and educational environment where I can help children grow and become comfortable in their independence. Even away from home at a show, we want the kids and their families to feel cared about and have something special to look forward to each day.”
Cody concluded, “I think the kids will have so much fun with Bess. She really understands the challenges of carving out special time for younger kids within the fast-paced show environment because she has deep roots in the horse business. Not only is she NRBC Vice-President Colleen McQuay’s sister, her son Nate Bouley is an integral part of Equine Promotion, which provides video services for the NRBC.”
The Kids Academy will be held daily beginning April 13. Each session will include a craft project, physical activity and fun learning activities. Sessions will be held in the covered pavilion area between the outdoor warm-up arenas. NRBC sponsor WorldWide Slide will set up a kids’ play and activity center in that area that will be open to the kids both before and after the sessions.
