Sherri Brunzell, a woman accused of animal cruelty in Black Forest, Colorado, was granted her motion for a delay in her jury trial, originally set for Feb. 24. Brunzell’s lawyer requested the delay in order to collect test results and interview witnesses. The new trial date was set for May 2015.
In September 2014, 10 horses and four llamas were seized by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office from a facility Brunzell was leasing. Among the horses found in poor condition was Dual Peppy (Peppy San Badger x Miss Dual Doc x Doc’s Remedy), a cutting stallion with more than $86,000 in career earnings and in excess of $700,000 in offspring earnings.
