Lizzys Gotta Babe Wins El Rancho Mercuria/NCHA World Series of Cutting Open

The duo marked a 225 for owners Tim and Missy Drummond, of Pawhuska, Okla.

The mare (Lizzys Gotta Player x Moms Stylish Babe x Docs Stylish Oak) was a multiple champion during her aged event career, including the 2012 El Rancho Futurity Classic/Challenge Open with trainer Adan Banuelos. The now 8-year-old mare has lifetime earnings of $51,049, according to Equi-Stat. Banuelos sent Lizzys Gotta Babe to California for Cromer to catch-ride, a decision that paid off to the tune of $12,572.

Chubby Turner piloted 2013 NCHA Open World Champion One Time Choice (One Time Pepto x Hickory Choice x SR Instant Choice) to a score of 223 and the Mercuria Reserve Championship. One Time Choice, owned by J Five Horse Ranch LLC of Weatherford, Texas, had earned $155,335 coming into the El Rancho Mercuria and left with an additional $8,921 on his record.

Mercuria/NCHA World Series of Cutting Non-Pro

Bill Lacy rode his 6-year-old gelding Jay Moss Cougar (High Brow Cougar x Ariel Rey x Dual Rey) to the Mercuria/NCHA World Series of Cutting Non-Pro Championship with a final-round 223. The Crested Butte, Colo., rider bred Jay Moss Cougar, and together they have posted $36,299 to Equi-Stat. The gelding’s total earnings are more than $46,000. As a rider, Lacy has lifetime earnings of $696,898.

Katie Fonsen Young of Sebastopol, Calif., earned the Reserve Championship and a check for $8,544 on For Instance (SR Instant Choice x Travalen Tessie x Travalena). The duo marked a 223, just one point shy of the winning score. Since 2010, For Instance has earned $115,061 under Young’s ownership. Young herself has lifetime earnings of $268,879, according to Equi-Stat.
