On June 10, Susie Reed, manager of Polo Ranch stallions, announced that Soula Jule Star has been sold to Sandra Navarro, owner of Think A Mite Ranch in Paraná, Brazil.
“We’ve seen a lot of activity from our Brazilian buyers over the past couple of years, and Ben [Soula Jule Star] caught their eye on a ranch visit last fall. He wasn’t really for sale, but recently we got one of those offers you just couldn’t turn down.”
The 1997 sorrel stallion (Grays Starlight x Bella Coquette x Docs Okie Quixote) has a lifetime Equi-Stat record of $129,346, all earned in cutting with co-owner Sandy Bonelli, of Heart Ranch in Petaluma, Calif. As sire, Soula Jule Star has produced money-earners in cutting, reining, reined cow horse, ranch versatility and barrel racing. As of June 13, his total offspring earnings are $1,225,430 according to Equi-Stat. In 2013, he was ranked in the top 20 on Equi-Stat‘s reined cow horse sires chart and in the top 25 on Equi-Stat‘s 10-Year All-Industry Statistics Leading Sires chart.
Carlos De Silva, agent for the transaction said, “After his 30 days of quarantine in Aubrey, ‘Ben’ will be off to southern Brazil.”
