Live and Online Auctions to Help Benny Guitron

bennyguitronBenny GuitronFriends of Benny Guitron have organized an auction to help with his out-of-pocket medical costs. Now through Jan. 24, bidders may view the auction online at www.32auctions.com/bennyguitron. The online portion of the auction will close prior to the live event, hosted at the Arizona Sun Circuit in Scottsdale, Ariz., Jan. 25-Feb. 1.

Items will be located in the North Concourse at WestWorld for the duration of the show. A phone line will be set-up for those not at the show to bid. Live auction and cocktail party will be held Feb. 1 at 4:00 p.m. in a location to be announced later.

Auction items include: a breeding to NRCHA #1 Leading Sire One Time Pepto, a Shorty’s 100x custom hat, and a Bob’s custom show saddle. If you have an item you would like to donate, please contact Dana Avila at 951-375-6682 or [email protected].

As a National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) Hall of Fame horseman, Guitron has many titles under his belt. He is most proud of winning the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Open Champion, becoming the first West Coast trainer to win the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Junior Reining World Championship and winning the 2009 Magnificent 7. He has taught many youth and amateur riders to win world and all-around titles as well. Guitron is known as a historian in the equestrian world, committing to memory pedigree and bloodlines for more than five decades. He is married and has two adult children and two grandchildren.

Last October, Benny was diagnosed with a common childhood leukemia called acute lymphocytic leukemia. He is receiving treatment at Stanford Medical Facility in hopes of a full recovery. To receive more information on this or other cancers please visit www.cancer.org.
