Cutters Reach For The Stars Indoors

partybandChilly temperatures and strong wind moved Thursday, April 18’s, Reach For The Stars of Cutting party, planned for the open rooftop at Montgomery Plaza in Fort Worth, Texas, to a hybrid indoor/outdoor celebration.

Sponsored jointly by The Residences at Montgomery Plaza and Park Place Motors, the party featured live music and free appetizers. It also acted as an informal introduction for some people to the charitable NCHA Foundation.

The free party, open to all National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) members and friends, also celebrated the ongoing NCHA Super Stakes cutting, which ends Saturday, April 20.

“It’s just an open party. We’re selling bricks, but there’s no formal fundraising,” NCHA Director of Development Rebecca Brian said. “It’s just a kickoff to the final few days of the Super Stakes.”

Tribute bricks sold by the NCHA Foundation are one of its major fundraising initiatives. The NCHA Charities Foundation and Cutters In Action (CIA) originally formed as separate groups that assisted cutting families who were victims of loss. They now work together through the NCHA Foundation. It provides for the education of youth and assistance to families in crisis. It also provides for education, research and promotion of the cutting horse.
