Gordyville USA wrapped up another great show for reiners on March 17.Legends Lil Squeeze wrapped up the Bluegrass Reining Stakes, featuring the Wimpys Little Step Derby and the Gordyville Breeders Derby, on March 17 with four wins totaling more than $21,000.
At the show, held at Gordyville USA, Gifford, Ill., Legends Lil Squeeze turned in a score of 228 to win the Gordyville Breeders Derby Levels 4 and 3 Open and Wimpys Lil Step Derby Levels 4 and 3 Open. Matt Palmer showed the 2008 mare, who is bred and owned by Steve Simon, Marietta, Okla.
Simon also owns Legends Lil Squeeze’s sire, Custom Legend, an Equi-Stat earner of $228,287 who stands at Cinder Lake Ranch and Reproduction Center. Legends Lil Squeeze is out of Soldiers Lil Squeeze, by BH Toy Soldier. Soldiers Lil Squeeze has Equi-Stat career earnings of $15,986, winning several Open championships for owner George Bell and son Brian Bell in the early 2000s.
Legends Lil Squeeze was a finalist at several aged events in 2012. This is her first major win, and increases her lifetime earnings to $34,789, according to Equi-Stat records.
Quistador (Conquistador Whiz x Miss N Becky x Okie Paul Quixote) scored 227 to take the Reserve Championship in the Gordyville Breeders Derby Level 4 Open and Wimpys Lil Step Derby Level 4 Open under Shawn Flarida. Gus and Gaynia Revenberg, of Ontario, Canada, own the 2007 sorrel stallion.
