2013 NRCHA Hackamore Classic Entry Fees Reduced

MomsSilveradoCat Crawford OpHackClassicCH2012 NRCHA Hackamore Classic Champion Moms Silverado Cat and Todd Crawford. The National Reined Cow Horse Board of Directors has announced a reduction in entry fees for several divisions at the upcoming NRCHA Hackamore Classic May 1-5, in Pueblo, Colo. The Board approved the proposal at its Feb. 22 regular meeting in Pilot Point, Texas.

The new fee structure will be:
Open:  $1,200 (previously $1,400)
Intermediate Open: $300 (previously $450)
Limited Open: $300 (previously $450)
Non Pro: $900 (previously $1,200)
Amateur: $500 (previously $650)
Non Pro Limited: $500 (previously $650)

NRCHA Director and Treasurer Jerry Peters was the chief author of the new fee structure.

“It is designed to bring the entry cost into balance with the added money, increasing the event appeal,” Peters said. “Keeping our entry fees in line with our added money makes sense for everyone, from owners, to trainers, to Non Pros.  We believe this provides a great opportunity for our Limited and Intermediate competitors – reducing their fees by $500 (reduction of $150 Limited, $150 Intermediate, and $200 Open) to enter all divisions of the Open.  And reducing the Non-Pro fee from $1,200 to $900 – Non-Pros pay a lot of attention to costs, and this should make a difference.”

The Hackamore Classic also features two full slates of NRCHA-approved horse show classes with new divisions added and reduced entry fees; the second day of showing was added for the first time at the 2013 event.
