January 2012 - The CattleNetwork.com website had a one-one-one conversation with Joe Maxwell, Humane Society of the United States director of rural outreach, about the organization's efforts concerning farming. The conversation was a rebuttal to a similar conversation that CattleNetwork.com had with Pete McClymont, president of Nebraska’s We Support Agriculture, a group that is working to block HSUS-backed proposals in Nebraska.
Among Maxwell's comments was, "The Humane Society of the United States simply peels back the cover and exposes the truth about extreme practices within corporate agriculture. The HSUS celebrates those Nebraska farmers and ranchers who are good stewards of their animals and the land."
