On Friday, Aug. 12, at least nine horses were found dead in Parker County, Texas. According to the Parker County Sheriff's Department, the horses had no water, feed or hay. The well on the property appeared to have water but wasn't pumping. Texas has been in extreme drought conditions with more than of month of 100-plus degree temperatures and no rain. The owner of the animals, who lives in Arizona and rents the land from a farmer, had hired someone to keep an eye on the horses. The party responsible may face animal cruelty charges.
