ashalogoSome of the greatest versatile stock horses in the nation will be gunning for American Stock Horse Association Regional Champion titles in the four-event Quarter Horse News ASHA Regional Championships.

The Regional Showdown’s entries are open to the World to any breed of horse and to anyone who desires to test their mounts ability in this four-event versatile competition. Competitors will vie in stock horse trail, pleasure, reining and working cow. Awards will be presented to the top all-around horses in six divisions.

The popular, fast-growing ASHA and Quarter Horse News will be presenting three Regional Championships across the nation. The ASHA Region 1 Championship will be held Oct. 30-Sept. 1 in Bryan, Texas, and is hosted by the Brazos County Extension Horse Committee. Region 5 is hosted by the Oklahoma Stock Horse Association, Oct. 28-30 at the Hardy Murphy Coliseum in Ardmore, Okla. Scheduled for Nov. 4-6 in Montgomery, Ala., is the ASHA Region 2 Championship, sponsored by the Alabama Stock Horse Association.

The ASHA 3-Year Old Versatility World Championship Futurity will be held in conjunction with the Region 5 Championship Show in Oklahoma, Oct 28-30. In keeping with the concept of a four-event versatile stock horse, the ASHA Futurity provides an opportunity to showcase the talents of young, four-event horses. The futurity is open to all breeds of horses and ASHA members in good standing. Horses must be shown as a 3-year-old determined by age as of Jan. 1. Horses also must have an ASHA competition license. A nomination form will be required for each horse and rider combination. The fee for the 2011 Futurity is $350.
