Goodbye to Cathy Coleman PDF Print E-mail
Written by Stephanie Duquette

errington_coleman_cathyThe reined cow horse community is saddened by the news that a beloved competitor and trainer, Cathy Coleman, has lost her battle with cancer. The Gillette, Wyo., horsewoman passed away Saturday, July 31. She was 46.

Coleman was president of the Wyoming Reined Cow Horse Association (WRCHA), and had been working to raise funds for year-end award saddles. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to the WRCHA to purchase the saddles in her memory.  Details about how to donate are being finalized and will be released when they become available.

“She was a staunch supporter of the NRCHA, and an inspiration to many of us. The last day she rode was Friday. Her No. 1 desire was to compete in the World’s Greatest Horseman, and she did so this year,” said Coleman’s longtime friend and fellow trainer, Sandy Collier.

A celebration of Cathy's life will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Cathy’s arena, 15 miles east of HWY 59 on HWY 450, in Wright, Wyoming. For directions please call Ted at 307-464-1428. In lieu of flowers the family appreciates donations made to the Wyoming Reined Cow Horse Association, 13665 Hwy. 59 N., Gillette, WY 82716.
